Transmedia: "The Mirror of Fear"
-
Ashley Jennings is a reporter who investigates haunted items for a local magazine. A man named Jacob Foster shows up at her house to discuss mysterious disappearances associated with an antique mirror that belonged to the Gentry family for whom he’d worked. When Jacob is interviewed by Ashley, a fantastical story emerges that makes her excited to investigate the old mirror and find out what happened to the missing men. After turning up an old picture from 1844 published in her town’s newspaper, “The Serenity Times,” she comes across an employee who had crafted the one-of-a-kind mirror as a gift for his boss; something about the man who gifted the mirror seems off. Unfortunately, a deeper dive into this individual turns up nothing but a dead end. When she turns her focus to the mirror itself, strange things begin to happen. At first, she tries to convince herself that these events are par for the course, until one night, the mirror itself seems to come alive, calling out to her. Not sure what to expect, she approaches the mirror, and what she finds terrifies her, and she runs back to her bedroom, hiding from the reflection in the mirror. After going over the computer’s cam footage the next day to see if she caught the sequence of events, she turns to find a man standing in the mirror, once again calling to her. In her eagerness for the truth about the disappearances, she gets closer and begins to interview the man in the mirror. After Sir Mackelson reveals his true intention to her, she destroys the mirror and leaves the premises for a while. When she returns, she finds the mirror back in perfect condition, just sitting there. After looking at the camera footage, she knows she has to remove it from her life, but he isn’t done with her. She is caught in her reflection as the entity known as Sir Mackelson, the soul stealer sucks her into the mirror, leaving only a reddish-black substance behind.
